By the way, I designed and coded this website myself, line by line.
The Daily News publishes a print product four days a week, as well as online to ballstatedaily.com everyday. I am currently editor-in-chief, though I have also served as a designer, reporter, graphics editor and social media coordinator.
Under my leadership, the staff has gained a strong focus on breaking news, covering stories such as a public figure at Ball State tweeting racially insensitive remarks, the university president resigning and reports of a possible gunman on campus.
Our primary objectives for the upcoming months include an emphasis on enterprise reporting and a survey of the student body to determine what people want from their student paper.
The Daily News and other student media organizations have recently begun to collaborate and produce content under the name Unified Media. This content then flows to multiple platforms, including the print products, broadcasts and websites.
As editor of The Daily News, I encourage and am open to cooperative efforts with other student media groups.
Furthermore, I recently helped redesign ballstatedaily.com, with a stronger focus on multimedia than ever before.
In the near future, Unified Media will see the consolidation of its design resources, increasing efficiency and offering a wider range of experience to student participants.
